BWWT Agenda for May and Upcoming Events
Hi BWWT Members,
We will be having a club wide meeting via Zoom May 31, 2:00pm - 4:00pm. We will open up the Zoom session at 1:30 for those who want to log in early and test their connection.
Pro-Turner Remote Demonstrations:
We are working with several Pro-Turners to set up remote demos in the near future. Each demo is about 2-3 hours. We may have some remote meeting or demos that are not on a Saturday to accommodate the Pro-Turner schedules. We will make every effort to host the demonstrations to allow for most of the members to attend.
Show & Tell with giftcard drawing:
For the first Zoom meeting May 31, 2:00 - 4:00 we chose to do just a club meeting so that everyone can first get comfortable with that type of session before we host a Pro-Turner. We will hold a regular club meeting and as part of that we invite everyone to contribute some pictures of a project or projects they are working on we will do a show and tell. Please send “show & tell” pics in JGP format only to Mark Stransky, [email protected]. I have attached a sample of pics and how they’ll be displayed in the Show N’ Tell. We’ll ask each member submitting project pics to talk about each project for 2-3 minutes. We will have a random drawing for a $20 Hartville gift card for all who have submitted projects. Your project pics will be assigned a number. Project picture submission cut-off is May 25 (end of day). Mark will need some time to format and collate the pics. See samples for framing & lighting ideas below.
Zoom Meeting:
I have attached the invitation and login for the meeting below. There is no charge to use Zoom. It would be beneficial to test Zoom prior to the meeting and I will set up several "mini-Zoom test" meetings for you to do this prior to May 31 meeting. The meetings will all have different login “web links” and are calendar (date & time start based). PLEASE Use your first and last name as sign-in as it will be used to identify you under you “tile box” (video screen). Everyone will also be able to know who is who.
Zoom works best on a PC / Mac / tablet and will also work on iPhone or android phone. Tablets and iPhone / Android – install the Zoom App.
I’ll announce several test zoom sessions next week for those who want to test their access and ask questions to get to know the Zoom features. PC / Mac cheat sheet below.
Doll Lumber – annual June meeting:
We are postponing this meeting since the gathering size would violate the current state prohibition on group size. Doll lumber is open for business. So please keep them in mind when purchasing wood since they have been a long time contributor and host for both BWWT & North Coast as well as sponsoring the booth space at the Paul Bunyan Show.
Camp Y’ Noah
The camp is temporarily closed and they have not schedule any reopening dates. We may plan to postponed the annual July auction to a later date.
