This document is a summary of Turning Christmas Ornaments presented as a live demo - November 2021.  We thank Jack Boggio for this outstanding opportunity to learn about a unique way to create Christmas Ornaments!

Resin Casting Hands-On Session
This document is a summary of an 8 hour "Hands-On" session where attendees learned how to stabilize “punky” wood blanks; how to create different types of poured resin turning blanks; how to decorate banksia pods with different types of fillers; how to use of Polymer Clays; how to make your own silicon molds and much much more. South Auckland Woodturners Guild
South Auckland Woodturners Guild is New Zealand's largest Woodturning Guild, where we turn tomorrow’s treasures. The Guild is based in South Auckland New Zealand and has a current membership in excess of 110 turners with ages ranging from 10 to over 80.  The objective of the guild is to further the development of our members, and provide an environment for them to learn from and teach others. Windsor Chair Resources
Building a Windsor Chair is fun and a good test of your woodworking skills. In the end you may be tired; but then you have a chair to rest on. At this site you will find a complete list of how to build and design a Windsor Chair. There is a picture guide to styles, how to turn the legs and supports, how to carve the decorations, how to assemble the chair, and what tools and materials are needed.

The Woodturner's Workshop
This site is a wonderful site for all levels of wood turners. It has a great many project plans with instruction. Also, there are many instructions for building jigs useful to woodturning along with information on different types of wood. Last but not least; there is an e-book for beginners.

Fine Woodworking Magazine
This online magazine has many great plans and woodworking techniques. 
Absolutely Free PlansWelcome to Absolutely Free Plans, woodworking clip art and how to information. One of the most common requests in the various discussion groups and rec. woodworking is for free woodworking plans, people email me from Bench Notes and Sawdust Making 101 asking for them, so I have decided to compile a list from the bookmarks I have been saving over the past several years, as well as free clip art that can be used for making your own patterns. I have categorized them into sections, 
"Boat Plans", "Clip Art", "Games, Hobbies and Recreation", "Holiday Projects", "How To & Info", "Indoor Projects", "Outdoor Projects", "Projects for Children", and "Workshop Projects".

Woodturning Online is a comprehensive web site dedicated to providing information and resources to wood turners worldwide.  Woodturning Online was created and is maintained by enthusiastic wood turners. We are dedicated to bringing you quality and valuable wood turning information by continually working to add to and update the information on our web site. 

Jeff Greef Woodworking
Free Project Plans and Techniques.  This is an absolutely wonderful site for all kind of plans in many catagories.

The American Woodshop
PBS TV Show -- Scott Phillips in the twelfth season of The American Woodshop, host Scott Phillips criss-crosses the states to showcase the finest examples of woodworking in the country. Every "Road Trip" journeys to the workshop/studio of an American woodworking master, who shares time-honored tips and techniques. Season twelve adds a new dimension to each show by also exploring the home community of each master craftsman. 

Wood Turning with Robert Rosand
This site has some fun projects which includes a great Christmas ornament.

Segmented Turning
This site is a good site for anyone interested in Segmented Turning. It has free plans, instructions, hints, software, and much more.

Wood Crafts for Children
This site is a good site for anyone interested in projects for children. Use it to build projects with children too. All levels of skills are on this site.

Building With Wood: Tips and More

The growing popularity of DIY websites and blogs provides individuals with the opportunity to be creative while also being productive. Woodworking can be both fun and useful as it engages individuals in a craft that lends itself to both artistic expression and home improvement. From small projects to enhance the home to larger carpentry jobs such as building furniture, this is a skill that is easier to pursue than one might think.
