Buckeye Woodworkers and Woodturners was formed in mid-1992 and was accepted as a chapter of the American Association of Woodturners in September, 1993. The mission of BWWT is to educate and provide information and guidance to those interested in woodturning and woodworking. Since its formation, BWWT has grown to more than 120 members as of 2023, predominately from Northeast Ohio.
BWWT strives to advance the craft of woodturning by conducting demonstrations at community events and providing woodturning workshops guided by club members and professional woodturners at regular monthly meetings and many other venues. Regular BWWT meetings are usually held on the second Saturday of each month from 9:00am until noon at the Northwest Family Recreation Center in Akron, Ohio.
