Bob Stone - Turning Decorated Platters
Bob has been a member of BWWT since 2014 when woodturning sparked his interest at the February Tool Sale at Hartville Hardware. He has attended several woodturning classes from lidded boxes and wood burning to power carving. He enjoys turning a variety of items such as mallets, peppermills, spheres, pens, vessels, bowls and platters (the bigger - the better) and champagne flutes for his nieces and nephews weddings.
Bob was President of the BWWT club in 2017 and also the featured turner at the 2018 Wayne Arts Show in Wooster. Woodturning is a relaxing and rewarding hobby for Bob, one which he shares with his wife Denise. Bob enjoys learning from others, trying new ideas, helping with the club’s needs and is more than willing to pass along his experiences, good or bad. This demonstration on decorated platters is a mixture of learned techniques and experimenting with color and design. |
