Bill Gougler - Turning Bowls & Platters
with Wet Sanding for a dustless finish
I have been turning about ten years primarily bowls platters and hollow forms. I joined BWWT in 2012 in the hope that I could improve my turning skills or I was going to close the chapter on wood turning. Well as you can see I’m still at it. I have learned so much from the members and guest turners I now enjoy demo turning for the club and the public.
This brings me to do a demo for my peers in the club at the January meeting. Perhaps I can impart some of my skills to the members. I will be turning a simple bowl and platter from start to finish with a slight twist. I will wet sand and apply a wax finish for a dustless project that can be given away at any demo to an interested spectator. I have used this technique at Hartville Hardware and the Paul Bunyan show. I hope you enjoy the presentation. |
