Bob Baucom
A native of North Carolina. Bob first connected with woodturning while turning a bowl in his Junior High shop class. It became a dream from that point on to one day have a lathe and become a woodturner. After doing his graduate work at UNC-Chapel Hill he started a business and found other woodturning friends. He lives in Chapel Hill, NC with his wife Becky and his younger daughter.
Bob is a member of the North Carolina Woodturners’ Guild and is a founding member of the Chapel Hill Woodturners club of AAW. Bob has demonstrated at the North Carolina Woodturner’s Symposium, John C. Campbell Folk School and various woodturning clubs in the eastern US. He teaches an ornaments class at John C. Campbell Folk School. Bob also teaches all forms of woodturning in his home studio and at workshops from Ohio to Florida.
Years ago he started turning Christmas ornaments for the children of neighborhood, people at work and relatives. At one time he was turning and giving away 72 ornaments each year. Bob turned a different ornament each year to challenge his imagination and woodcraft creativity. He teaches turning 12 different ornaments as well as bowls, platters, and boxes. He has articles published in the American Woodturner and More Woodturning Online magazines. The most valuable thing that a person can share is their time and knowledge with others. Bob enjoys sharing both while having fun and gets excited seeing people learn.

Doll Lumber Annual Meeting
