BWWT has established a working relationship with the veterans organization Serving Area Military (SAM) - We are calling the program "A Vet's Turn". The goal of the program is to reach out to veterans and give them an opportunity experience woodturning and wood carving. The SAM Center, in Canal Fulton, will host sessions once per month with BWWT providing equipment and mentors. The sessions will provide Hands-On experience to veterans at the center.
Come and join us at the SAM Center, 8101 Manchester Ave NW, Canal Fulton, OH 44614. We meet on the third Thursday of each month from 10 AM to 2 PM. Share your skills with the vets or if you want to learn, we have mentors there to help. The club’s trailer is on site for the sessions so we have plenty of equipment to use. Along with the club lathes, we are adding some power carving equipment. The goal is to teach someone to carve on an object that they have turned.
